The Hearing Instrument Specialist is a professional who has shown sufficient understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human ear. They are also familiar with disorders of the outer ear. Hearing Instrument Specialists generally work alongside an otolaryngologist or in a private practice with an audiologist.
